Sick Army Veteran Didn’t Expect This From His Barista At Starbucks.

Starbucks baristas in DuPont, Washington, were used to seeing a smiling and happy Vince Villano come into their shop and make his orders. But during his last few times in the shop, he seemed down and depressed.

One of those baristas, Nicole McNeil, certainly took notice of that, and she was genuinely concerned. So one day she sat down at his table and asked him if there was anything he wanted to get off his chest. And there was. Vince’s kidneys were functioning at only about 4 percent and he was facing the rest of his life on dialysis. A kidney transplant was the only other alternative, and Vince didn’t have much hope for that.

Later that day, Nicole shared Vince’s sad story with her husband, Justin. He was bothered by it too, and being an Army veteran himself, he wanted to get tested to see if he was a match for Vince. He was. The three became the best of friends and the transplant was a complete success.

Says a thankful Vince: “In general, having them as friends, family, I wouldn’t want it to NOT be this way. I can’t imagine not having them in my life.”
