Beth Bornstein Dunnington was waiting at the Los Angeles Airport terminal for a flight to Portland. Other flights were also going out of that waiting area.
A young, pregnant mother started having problems with her toddler, as he was kicking, screaming and crying while running up and down the rows of seats, never settling down. The young mother couldn’t pick him up… couldn’t stop him… couldn’t deal with him. Her nerves were fried… so she collapsed on the floor, put her head in her hands and started crying.
Then Beth walked over to the crying mother… then six or seven other women walked over, forming a circle around the woman and her son. Some women gave the little boy toys to play with… Beth even sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider to him; while others soothed the young mother, giving her water and calming her nerves.
After a short time, the mom and her son were fine, and boarded their flight. The other women went back to their seats and didn’t speak a word of it while waiting for their own flights.
