A artwork picturing Amber Heard as Pinocchio shocked and enraged Amber Heard’s dear friend Eve Barlow.
“This is horrible,” Barlow wrote on Twitter and Instagram as Heard’s $100 million legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp neared a conclusion, exhibiting street art depicting Heard with an extended nose to label her a liar.
“Of course, given my work, it instantly reminds me of antisemitism; a sort of violent bigotry that frequently begins with gestures and phrases (and graffiti),” concluded Barlow. “But focusing on a single person? Frightening. Absurd. Horrific. #IStandWithAmberHeard.”
Barlow was in the courtroom with Heard during the first week of the trial in Virginia, but she was reprimanded for texting and tweeting in the front row and was eventually thrown out when Depp’s lawyers charged her of inappropriate behavior.
This is despicable. Of course given my work, it immediately reminds me of antisemitism; a form of violent prejudice that often starts with signs and words (and graffiti). But targeting one individual? Frightening. Absurd. Horrific. #IStandWithAmberHeard pic.twitter.com/iGGdLbZ5KC

While speaking out about the graffiti, Barlow claimed that when Depp comes to court, he is welcomed like a rockstar playing a sold-out residency.
While the other goes to court every day, afraid for her personal protection, the British music journalist went on, apparently alluding to Heard.
“You are involved in this pervasive misinformation if you make a joke of this trial and spew this type of venom,” Barlow said in her caption. “If it can happen to one survivor, it is likely to happen to others. What occurred to silence is violence?”
Barlow earlier compared the Rum Diary actress’s struggle with Depp to “David and Goliath,” warning fans not to be “duped” by forces operating behind the scenes.
As the trial nears its conclusion on Friday, the court dismissed Depp’s legal team’s to dismiss Heard’s defamation countersuit.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million, saying she misrepresented him in a 2018 op-ed in which she represented herself as a victim of domestic abuse without mentioning him. Heard then filed a countersuit for $100 million, maintaining her allegations that she was assaulted and that her profession was harmed.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has consistently denied Heard’s claims, claiming that his “objective is the truth” and clearing his name.
