A man sought for the murder of his wife and the abduction of his three-year-old daughter has been apprehended.
According to officials, Brent James Bockes of North Carolina was detained on Wednesday. Riley Harper Bockes, the daughter, was recovered uninjured in Tennessee.
Officers are caring for the child while seeking to locate her relatives, according to authorities.
Bockes is now incarcerated at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
Deana Michelle Bockes was discovered dead inside her Sanford, North Carolina, home early Wednesday. Although no cause of death has been published, authorities are treating the death as a murder.
Deana’s corpse was discovered soon after an Amber Alert for the pair’s kid was launched. About three hours after the warning was issued, police located Bockes and the little girl in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The stolen Toyota Avalon cops were looking for was involved in an accident.
Bockes tries to escape the scene with his child, but is quickly captured.
According to the publication, he is being arrested with first-degree murder in the death of his wife. He is also apparently charged with stealing a motor vehicle.
