‘And Just Like That…’ Kim Cattrall Is Returning to ‘Sex and the City’ – Find Out More!

Kim Cattrall is returning to the Sex and the City universe!

Max confirmed that she will reprise her legendary role as Samantha Jones on the second season of And Just Like That…

Cattrall’s character will allegedly make a phone call to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in the season 2 finale of AJLT.

Cattrall recorded the appearance on March 22 in New York City “without seeing or speaking with the stars of the series,” including Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, according to Variety. She also did not seem to engage with the show’s creator, Michael Patrick King. She was, though, outfitted for the occasion by Sex and the City designer Patricia Field.

While the cameo may come as a surprise, King confirmed in June that Samatha will be appearing in the new season, which begins on June 22. When asked recently whether Samantha’s character will return in season 2, King said, “Yes!”

King, 68, was reticent to reveal anything more about the new season. He said that it’s all so new right now. One of his main rules is to not say anything until it’s true.

His goal is to bring all the characters into the mix together, so they’re not so much on separate runways, he continued.

Carrie’s text message interactions with Samantha Jones were included in the first season. Cattrall, on the other hand, has already said that she does not wish to return to the series.

The series is essentially the third film. She said it was that creative last year. She was never asked to participate in the reboot. She made her emotions known after learning about the possibility of a third film, so she found out about it the same way everyone else did — on social media.

Parker, 58, also said in June 2022 on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast that they “did not ask” Cattrall to return.

She made it apparent that she didn’t want to go after it, and it no longer seemed comfortable for them, so it didn’t occur to them, she said. That’s not ‘slamming’ her; it’s just learning; one have to listen to someone, and if they’re openly talking about something and it doesn’t indicate it’s someplace they want to be, or an individual they want to play with, or an atmosphere in which they want to be, one get to an age where one is like, ‘Well, we hear that.’

In 2017, Cattrall claimed unequivocally that she had “never been friends” with any of her former SATC castmates, notably Parker.

This is actually where she takes into account the individuals from Sex and the City, particularly Sarah Jessica Parker, she said on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. She believes she could’ve been nicer, truly nicer, and she has no idea what her problem is.
