William and Kate Middleton, as well as Meghan Markle, were seen together in public for the first time in more than two years. Many were pleased to see the couples, called the “Fab Four,” working together and having each other to depend on before the Sussexes stepped down as working members of the royal family. But, as we all know, that was not the case.
There was a big rupture, and relations between the Fab Four have been tumultuous since Harry and Meghan stood down and relocated to another nation.
It should not be shocking that with Harry and Meghan in the UK to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth, all have been wondering how they will be treated. Body language specialists are now working around the clock to decipher the royals’ anxiety.
The royal Fab Four appeared together outside Windsor Castle last weekend, greeting well-wishers. Harry and Meghan made an unexpected appearance, joining William and Kate – they even departed in the same car.
However, there was clearly tension in the air at that occasion, as body language specialists pointed out.
Body language expert Katia Loisel stated that there were signs Meghan was uneasy and Kate didn’t care.
Meghan emerged ill at ease during this interaction, which is not astounding given the recent criticism that she has faced, Katia said. She also mentioned that William seemed to want to make Meghan feel at ease, while Kate did not.
On multiple instances, Meghan looked across at Kate; nevertheless, the stare was not reciprocated, Katia added, adding that Kate appeared to want to “look through” Meghan rather. And if that was Kate’s intention, Katia claimed it was accomplished.
Meghan’s hand raised slowly as if to wave, but halted midair, instead stopping to arrange her hair, her head and eyes dropped, she explained.
Another body language specialist stated that tensions were high as the royal family paid respect to the late Queen in Westminster Hall.
Daily Mail editor Rebecca English reported on the Palace Confidential podcast that there was a lot more animosity between Meghan and senior members of the family, including Queen Consort Camilla, Kate, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
A lot of what they observed occurred off-camera since one couldn’t pick up their cameras until they saw the casket, Rebecca explained. They just had five to ten minutes to observe them. The body language was intriguing.
Rebecca noted that Meghan and the others were communicating a lot through their body language.
From where they were standing, one couldn’t help but see the senior royals’ and Meghan’s body language, she claimed. One could tell Camilla, Kate, and Sophie were together because their body language was incredibly comfortable.
That was not the case with Meghan. But then there was Meghan, and one could almost squeeze someone else in there. It said a lot, Rebecca went on.
Even if one didn’t understand what has transpired in the last five years, one has turned up and said, ‘that seems a bit weird; there’s something somewhat off here.’
Meghan’s emotions were visible to the body language specialist.
There was something self-consciously uncomfortable about her position, Rebecca explained. It demonstrated the severity of the gap between herself and the rest of the royal family even if one stumbled across them without any previous knowledge of the bitterness of the last four years.
Indeed, Meghan, who was wearing black leather gloves, appeared so bored that she placed her left hand in her pocket at one point, she concluded.
All of this is likely to be taken with a grain of salt. Although there is much to be said for body language, passing judgment is not appropriate. The royal family is in mourning, and they are aware that millions of individuals are watching and waiting to interpret everything they do or do not do.
