When his wife discovered a hidden camera in their house and informed police, a California man was arrested for allegedly having more than 900 child pornography photographs.
According to the Redding Police Department, Ryan Rovito, 34, was questioned by his wife on March 8 after she found the camera in their home’s guest bathroom. He acknowledged knowing about the camera and claimed he would dispose of it, but his wife had seized it as well as the hard disk to which it was linked.
His wife reported him to the cops after discovering that he had videotaped their small children using the restroom.
Authorities acquired a search warrant for the devices, and investigators conducted a preliminary forensic investigation, which revealed over 900 photos of child pornography and several films from the toilet camera.
According to authorities, the films showed kids and people using the restroom who seemed to be unaware that they were being videotaped.
On March 9, police got an arrest warrant and detained Rovito during a traffic check.
Ravito was accused of having child pornography in his possession and secretly filming an identifiable individual while nude. He was arrested and brought to the Shasta County Prison.
