Most people know Bruce Willis from those great action films. But there’s another Bruce Willis out there that’s not really into making movies. And that Bruce Willis is a cat.
This cat spent the first several years of its life on the streets, and it had a tough time. By the time it was rescued and taken to Minnesota’s Animal Humane Society, he was in some pretty rough shape, with lots of scars, an eye injury and some broken teeth.
But staffers there did the best they could to nurse him back to health. And every time one of them would pick him up, he would purr… loudly.
Then one day, a woman named Sandra spotted his photo, and she was determined to go and visit him, even though she knew her apartment complex did not allow pets. And when she did, she took a picture of him and posted it, saying: “I looked even sadder in real life than in the picture. A dog walked by and I got so scared, but I didn’t have any energy to even move.”
Sandra could only hope that a good family would soon adopt him, and she said goodbye to him. But a short time after that, Sandra learned that Bruce Willis was sick. He had Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and it made even a simple cold very hard for him to fight off. So Sandra had to visit him again. He was barely able to acknowledge her when she arrived.
The woman just could not stand it any more, so she told the shelter she wanted Bruce Willis and pleaded with her landlord after sending photos of the suffering cat. That landlord relented and Sandra was able to take the cat home. He was feeling a little better now that he knew someone cared about him.
Says Sandra: “He didn’t stop purring all night. Since that day, he’s been following me around no matter where I go.”
Now, he’s big on social media, with more than 9,000 followers. But we’re pretty sure all he really needs is Sandra to keep loving him.
