According to accounts, a Michigan father watched the road accident that killed two of his daughters on Father’s Day.
In a sad twist of fate, Mike Polzin was driving ahead of his two daughters and so witnessed the collision through his rear-view mirror.
According to Michigan State Police, the collision occurred when a 21-year-old woman driving a Mercury Montego tried to dodge hitting another car and ended up crossing the median, slamming head-on with an oncoming Toyota Prius.
Sisters Kaeyle Lynn Polzin, 22, and Sara Summerlyn Polzin, 16, were killed in the crash.
However, their father, Mike, who was driving ahead of them in a different vehicle with their mom, Lori, told authorities they were on their way to a family holiday.
Sam, Kaeyle and Sara’s sister, was rushed to the hospital with a fractured collar bone as a third passenger in the Prius.
Kaeyle and Sara’s mom posted on a GoFundMe campaign set up to assist their family with funeral costs: No one is to blame. This was an unintended consequence. A massive, unavoidable disaster. Two of their babies were taken away in a single second. Please don’t add to her pain with rage and falsehoods.
My heart goes out to this sad family after such a tragic loss. Keep your loved ones close since you never know when disaster may strike.
