Amanda Kosal accepted that she was drunk when she struck an SUV head-on-killing Jerome Ziker, 31, a father of five and injured his fiancee seriously.
Amanda was ultimately imprisoned for 3 to 15 years. She was escorted into the Michigan courtroom for her sentencing and the Judge for the case was Qiana Lillard.
From the back of the courtroom the Judge Lillard heard giggles when the victim’s family was reading their impact statements-with courage expressing their terrible loss over Jerome’s death and how their lives were affected.
The victim’s family was stopped shortly by the judge and focused on Amanda’s mother. She scolded in a stern voice stating, “This is a court of law, and these are very serious matters. I understand you all are very upset because your loved one is going to prison-but guess what?
She’s going to prison for the choice she made. These people are grieving, saddened because a senseless act took away their loved one and you’re sitting here acting like it’s a joke?’
