Many youngsters are returning to school towards the end of August, some for the first time. If you have lost a parent, this may be a painful day. The La Vergne Police Department in Nashville, Tennessee, stood up for a kindergarten girl who had lately lost her dad so that she would not seem alone on her important first day.
On her first day of kindergarten, Anna Stolinsky was escorted by a cop. A video posted to the Facebook page of the La Vergne Police Department shows this cute youngster dressed in her school uniform strolling down two rows of police officers who are there to wish her well. She high-fives them, hugs her family, and is ultimately escorted into school by an officer.
Lieutenant Kevin Jay Stolinsky, Anna’s dad, died in a medical incident while on duty in November 2021. La Vergne Police Chief Chip Davis described Kevin during his burial as “passionate, goal-oriented, and kind, somebody who would do everything for you. We’re going to miss you,” Chip continued.
Kevin’s brother, Wilson County officer David Stolinsky, finds solace in the fact that his brother died doing what he loved. Kevin was performing mourning visits for families of slain police on his final shift. He was assisting police officers’ families. He was encouraging police officers’ families. That’s how the family company works.
Kevin’s coworkers and fellow police honored his memory by assisting Anna on her first day. Anna and her family were clearly adored. This is an excellent way to begin the new school year.
Watch the beautiful video and share it with your loved ones.
Today was the first day of kindergarten for Anna Stolinsky, daughter of La Vergne Police Lt. Kevin Stolinsky who passed away on November 12, 2021. In honor of her father and in support of her family, Anna and her mom were given a police escort to school and then were surrounded by officers from multiple departments as she made her way to the front doors. Anna even went back to give each of the officers a high five to thank them for helping her get to school safely.
