A child so little who could fit into the palm of your hand. This is a story of extraordinary tenacity and miracles as a family celebrates the return home of a baby born so little that he could fit into the palm of his mom’s hand after 460 days in the hospital.
We know that our lives are ideally suited to God’s hands as he directs, secures, soothes, and rejoices over each of us. Kendall Jurnakins, on the other hand, is a great example.
He was born 25 weeks early and weighed only 15 ounces. His possibilities of surviving were stacked against him when he was born. Sparkle and Keith, his parents, were informed he had a 50% chance of survival.
Sparkle remembered that she was just afraid her kid wasn’t going to make it. But, as Kendall got stronger, he continued to beat the odds, despite the fact that he had a number of medical issues as a result of his premature birth.
Kendall was fitted with a tracheostomy and placed on a ventilator to assist him breathe. Sparkle was dealing with health issues of her own while he grew and thrived. She became infected with COVID-19 and was in a coma for three months. Her greatest concern was that her child wouldn’t recollect her.
She expressed that he wasn’t going to remember her but when they were reunited, she said her kid “looked at her the entire time.” After the wonderful mother and son were reunited, the baby born so little he could fit into the palm of a hand was permitted to return home.
That’s when Sparkle’s reality hit for Sparkle.

Kendall’s medical team decided it was ready for him to go home after 460 days (approximately one year and three months) in the hospital, despite the fact that he was still utilizing a feeding tube.
She simply thought she couldn’t believe her eyes. Her baby actually made it. Kendall’s mother remarked she said a prayer, sobbed. She was overjoyed and was sad. She was everything and was prepared for her child to get back home.
