Florida boy gets trapped inside arcade claw machine

A 4-year-old child who went into a claw crane arcade machine at a restaurant Wednesday night was retrieved without damage, according to Titusville Fire Department officials, and even happened to capture the toys he was desperate to recover.

According to Titusville Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg Sutton, the youngster crept up through the machine’s little door where a reward would normally fall. An off-duty lieutenant was enjoying supper at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in the 2800 block of Garden Street when he discovered the youngster was trapped inside.

Lt. Michael Abernathy, fire medic Roman Lane, and firefighter/emergency medical technician Kyle George rushed to the scene at 5:33 p.m. and had the youngster out by 5:41 p.m.

Fortunately, he was never in any trouble since one of our own lieutenants happened to be there off-duty and acted appropriately, Titusville Fire Department officials stated following the event on Facebook.

Despite the fact that the machine had to be pryed open, the harm was small.

They did an excellent job of limiting that, Sutton added.

Extraction, whether from a damaged automobile or a claw machine, is something firemen train for, according to Abernathy.

Abernathy explained, they know what their tools are capable of. When they came, they realised they couldn’t break the glass because it might damage the kid.

According to firemen, the individuals near the machine were calm, but the youngster was slightly upset.

He continued that when they started pulling up the equipment, he grew more agitated. The child soon obtained his prize, a stuffed football, as well as a few others.

Abernathy explained, he took four toys out and went to eat with his family.

On Thursday, the fire department received calls from press outlets all across the country. The tale and photographs of the brown-haired youngster kneeling amid the multicoloured pile of toys were also widely circulated on social media. The firemen were shocked that the event drew publicity outside of Brevard County, but they were sorry to read the nasty sentiments directed at the parents.

Abernathy said that children may run away from you in a split second, and anything can happen. People are being harsh on the parents because they don’t know what they would do in the same scenario. It could occur to any kid.
