Glynis Johns, star of ‘Mary Poppins,’ says turning 100 ‘Doesn’t Make Any Difference.’

Glynis Johns, the actress behind Mary Poppins, has turned 100!

On Thursday, the actress who played Winifred Banks in the 1964 musical celebrated her 100th birthday.

In a recent interview, Johns said that after living on the planet for ten decades, she doesn’t feel any different.

Johns said when asked how she felt at 100 that it doesn’t make any differennce to her. Well, she looked very good for every age.

Johns’ career spans eight decades, including appearances in films such as Miranda in 1948, Mad About Men in 1954, and Another Place, Another Time in 1958. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Mrs. Firth in the 1960 film The Sundowners.

She believes she has been working at something since she was born, as Johns expressed in her lengthy career.

Johns also played Elsie in the 1995 film While You Were Sleeping, opposite Sandra Bullock, and Grandma Gallagher in the 1999 film Superstar.

She has also had a successful theater career, having appeared in productions such as Peter Pan and A Little Night Music.

She has been doing songs from the show on and off throughout the years, as she stated in 1991. She has never truly been away. She was performing ‘Send in the Clowns’ for a charity concert just a few months ago. But her physicians advised her not to work for a few months and that she should rest, take it easy, and get physiotherapy for her teeth problems. More precisely, she had to decide whether she wanted to return to another role—to hear someone else perform eight times a week, performing what she was used to doing.

According to IMDb, Johns was married four times: from 1942 to 1948 to Anthony Forwood, from 1952 to 1956 to David Ramsay Foster, from 1960 to 1962 to Cecil Peter Lamont Henderson, and from 1964 to 1973 to Elliott Arnold.

She also had one son, actor Gareth Forwood, who died at the age of 62 in 2007.
