“I love you dad,” was the final text message Michael Madsen got from his son before committing himself.
Hudson Madsen, the son of a Hollywood icon, was a U.S. Army Sergeant stationed in Hawaii who had just completed his first tour when he shot himself in the head, according to his dad.
He is in disbelief because his son, whom he just spoke with a few days ago, said he was happy- his last text from his son was ‘I love you dad,’ Madsen, the Kill Bill franchise’s actor, stated.
He saw no signs of depression. It’s horrible and heartbreaking. He is simply attempting to make sense of it all and figure out what took place, he said.
Hudson, who had Quentin Tarantino as his godfather, was Madsen’s oldest son with wife DeAnna Madsen, followed by brothers Kalvin and Luke. With his ex-wife, Jeannine Bisignano, Madsen has two additional boys, Christian and Max.
According to his wife, Carlie, whom he married in 2019, the couple was happy and still going strong. According to Carlie’s social media, the couple was unable to produce kids naturally and was considering IVF.
Carlie uploaded a selfie of herself in a medical gown on Instagram exactly one week before his death on January 22, 2022, indicating she had a tumor removed. She adds that she simply wishes to give a shout-out to her wonderful husband. He has been so patient throughout this whole process. She had surgery yesterday to remove a tumor from one of her breasts, and he was and has been so patient throughout this entire procedure.
Carlie stated they were at the hospital for about 7 hours yesterday, and while she was in surgery, he went to Target and got her flowers, comfy pajamas, her favorite candy, and a card! Carlie was photographed at the Tripler Army Medical Center, a Department of Defense facility in Hawaii. He’s also been really helpful in her recuperation, and she is grateful.
Two weeks later, she posted a nice selfie of herself and Hudson with the caption, “I miss you so much.”
The circumstances that led to Hudson’s suicide baffled everyone.
He had regular life challenges that individuals have with finances, but he desired a family, Madsen said, distraught by his son’s suicide. He was looking ahead, so it’s shocking. He just doesn’t understand what happened.
Madsen, the actor in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, also said that his son, who had served in Afghanistan, was battling with mental health. The actor revealed that his kid, who required counseling, had stopped receiving it due to personal reasons. Because he suspected “that officers and rank and file were shaming,” Madsen demanded a military inquiry, the results of which are still unavailable to the public.
One month after Hudson committed suicide, Madsen, known for his work on Quentin Tarantino’s violent comedies, was arrested in Malibu, at the opulent mansion from which he had just been evicted. Madsen was charged with trespassing and released on bail.
The actor has a history with the law; in 2019, he was charged with DUI after wrecking his SUV, and in 2012, he was charged with child endangerment.
When the actor entered his house and saw his teenage son using marijuana, the two got into a fight. Madsen had gotten into a physical fight with his juvenile son, and when cops arrived, they saw several signs of injury on his son. They’ve been informed Madsen was also under the effects of alcohol at the time of his detention. The name of the son was not revealed, but Madsen’s was.
Following Hudson’s death, the family issued a statement stating that they are devastated and overwhelmed with sorrow and anguish at the loss of Hudson. All who knew and loved him will cherish his memory and light.
On January 23, 2023, Carlie writes on Instagram in a touching homage to her husband, whom she affectionately refers to as “Lump,” She is not sure how a year has passed without him. It still aches as badly as it did the day before. He is the first thing she think about when she get up in the morning and the last thing that she think about before she goes to bed at night. She can’t express how much she suffers and how much she misses you. She only wished would have talked to her and told her what was going on that day, she added. She is sorry he believed this was the only way to improve things. She is sorry she couldn’t do more and that she didn’t see the warning flags. She is sorry for disappointing him. Just know that he is constantly with her and on her thoughts. She misses him so much, Lump, and she loves him much more.
The death of Hudson Madsen is a devastating conclusion to a hero, son, best friend, and husband. Now is the opportunity to tell someone you care about how much you appreciate them.
