Horrified parents abandon newborn at hospital, then a woman steps forward and asks ‘When can I take him?’

Success in today’s society is around moving up while attempting to blend in as much as possible. Because you are viewed as “strange” or “weird” if you don’t fit in or are a little different from others.

It’s a depressing outlook on life that places an excessive focus on how we appear and how we stack up against our peers.

Just ask Jono Lancaster, who is human just like the rest of us but has regrettably been cruelly shown several times of how brutal the world can be.

In October 1985, Jono Lancaster was born in England, however the hospital staff noticed something unusual about him almost away.

Treacher Collins syndrome, a rare birth disease, led the sweet young boy’s facial bones to grow asymmetrically.

The physicians informed Jono’s parents of the diagnosis and added that he would likely never be able to walk or talk. Jono’s parents, who were startled, gave up on him since it was too much for them.

His parents were completely shocked when he was born. After 36 hours in the hospital, he was discharged. Social services were able to get care for him. At the 2015 Nord Conference, Jono recalled that the foster care provider was a woman named Jean.

Less than two days after Jono was born, his parents abandoned him and gave him up for adoption. Social Service was called by the hospital, and a great woman by the name of Jean Lancaster adopted and nurtured Jono.

When Jean first saw the young kid, she wasn’t horrified or frightened. She simply lifted him up and a relationship immediately developed. “When can she take him home?’ Jean asked the nurse as she turned to face her.

He received the affection and attention he required right from the beginning from his foster mother, and Jono couldn’t have asked for a more loving or devout mother.

Even though Jono’s mother gave him a lot of support, the early years of his life were characterized by a lack of sympathy from the outside world.

Jono began to realize himself when he began attending school. He realized right once that he didn’t look like his peers.

In an interview Jono expressed that he kind of felt like he was by himself and that he was the only one in the world who was like him.  He wondered, “Why did he have to end up looking like this? Individuals are fortunate enough to win the jackpot or they become professional footballers, physicians, or attorneys.

It’s crucial to understand that Treacher Collins syndrome has no impact whatsoever on a child’s IQ. The only thing Jono’s classmates were interested in was his appearance. They used to pull faces and flee, stating they didn’t want to acquire his “sickness” from him.

He used to hide from his mum how miserable he was. She has already done a lot for him, he said in an interview.

Though he had a great woman by his side, Jono refused to quit and allow the bigots triumph.

Jean, Jono’s foster mother, made an effort to reconnect Jono with his parents. But she went the next step and adopted Jono on May 18, 1990, after they hadn’t answered her letters for five years.

He now have two birthdays. At the 2015 Nord Conference, Jono remarked, he used to tell other kids that his mom went to the hospital and she looked at all the infants and she selected him, while their parents had been trapped with them.

In an emotional Facebook post from 2015, Jono made it obvious that he would always remember his foster mother.

This woman may not be very tall, but she has the largest heart of anyone he has ever met. This woman has been a foster parent for 30 years; she loves so many people and has given so much of herself. Every time a kid was transferred to a new foster home, this woman sobbed because she felt as though she had failed the child.

This lady may be a little short in height, but this lady has the biggest heart out of every one ive ever met. This lady…

Despite being a single mother in her 40s, this woman accepted my employment despite having no idea what the future contained. He was adopted by this woman, who also gave him a wonderful family in Claire and Stephen. This woman was an angel sent to him at the right time.

His mother, his idol, Jean, is the name of this angel.

Jono grew up to be a very disobedient young man. He occasionally did things only to get attention. He did so to distract attention away from his physical characteristics, which were the true issue. He consumed a lot of wine and attempted to win people over by offering them treats.

He was feeling really isolated.

However, Jono quickly made the decision to be a force for good and utilize his experience to assist others with the love and care of Jean and his own powerful spirit.

Jono, who is 36 years old, has dedicated his life to assisting others with Treacher Collins syndrome all around the world. As a team leader for adults with autism, he has been employed.

He interacts with them, offers them encouragement and support, and discusses the matter with their parents. Presently, Jono works as a motivating instructor who frequently discusses Treacher Collins syndrome.

He claims his parents still don’t want anything to do with him.  His mindset has changed, and that’s what makes a difference. […] None of it would be altered by him. More than anything else, his mindset was incapacitating. One can do anything if he/she has the correct mindset.

Although he is only young, Zackary has already experienced bullying. But he has found a lifelong companion in Jono.

The boy’s mother, Sarah Walton, stated that, when he mentioned he was coming to Australia, they knew they wanted to meet him and it made them so pleased to see Zack meet someone like him.

This photo was shared on Facebook when Jono and Zackary first met in November 2014, and it’s simply so sweet to behold.

Wife of Jono Lancaster

While employed as a fitness teacher in 2015, Jono met Laura Richardson.

They started dating, and Laura accepted Jono’s illness. She accepted him as he was, and together they worked to uplift and cheer up everyone around them.

Before meeting Laura, Jono always believed that if he wanted to build a family and have kids, he would resort to adoption.

He always wanted to have children. His adoptive mother was wonderful, but he never had a father role in his childhood, and truly, really desired that. He needs father-son interactions. In 2011, Jono expressed that he wanted to do the school run, take his kid to dancing, gymnastics, or football – whatever they want.

Any kid Jono fathers has a 50% risk of having Treacher Collins, according to Jono. Therefore, even the prospect of having a kid of his own set off a cascade of feelings, moral dilemmas, and self-examination. Despite the fact that Jono was born reasonably healthy, many Treacher Collins children experience serious medical issues, and some of them are born unable to breathe.

Jono reasoned that perhaps adoption was the best choice.

It worked incredibly well for him, and I believe it’s fantastic to give a kid a second shot. But Laura worries that she won’t be able to care for someone else’s child – or that the child would just want to locate its biological parents – since she believes she will have the impulses to genuinely want to carry a child.

Jono explained that she also fervently desires for their child to be ‘their’ child. And he truly wants to take care of her when she is expecting, so that she may relax on the couch or that he can go downstairs at two in the morning if she has a pickle need.

Unfortunately, Jono and Laura never had children. They made the decision to end their ten-year relationship and move on. He  and Laura enjoyed 10 great years together and they chose to go their own ways since they weren’t developing together as a pair, Jono wrote on Instagram in an explanation of the choice. There was nothing except respect for one another, and looks was irrelevant.

Some of his supporters expressed sorrow and made an effort to see the bright side, reassuring Jono that something beneficial may emerge from a failed relationship.

Breakups can never, in his opinion, be made to sound positive. It was tragic, said Jono in response.

Watch the video below to hear Jono share his tale.

Although Jono’s tale is tragic, it is also tremendously inspiring to watch his fortitude and strength as he utilizes them to aid other youngsters in similar circumstances.

Let’s sincerely hope we can increase awareness of Jono’s story. Not just to motivate others, but also to instill hope and assurance in those who lack it. Since we could all use a little motivation now and again.

My Parents Abandoned Me Because Of My Face

Jono explains how he was abandoned at birth by his parents, and what happened 25 years later when he tried to make contact with them.
