Ellora Mort, Dalton Mort’s daughter, was born when she was 19 years old. Dalton has always had Ellora at her side for her and her husband’s milestone events, from moving into her first house to travelling on her honeymoon.
Dalton knew that she desired Ellora to play a large role in her wedding, but she didn’t want to follow the typical path of having her 2-year-old perform as the flower girl.
Dalton also elected not to put on a veil. Rather, she informed her wedding photographer that she would be wearing Ellora on her back during the ceremony.
It’s known as “babywearing,” and it’s something that an increasing number of brides are doing during their own weddings.
Dalton was already used to having her kid strapped to her back for lengthy periods of time, so it seemed natural. She felt it would keep her calm on such a stressful day, Dalton explained. Wearing her let the mom to include her in the ceremony in a way that seemed natural to both of them.
Ellora slept off around 20 minutes into the service, comfortably snuggled into her LílléBaby carrier. Dalton and Ellora even exchanged vows while she was breastfeeding.
Photographer Laura Schaefer caught the charming photos, which have gone viral online and earned a lot of support from other mothers.
And, despite the fact that the 2-year-old kept yanking at her mother’s hair and falling asleep during the ceremony, Dalton and her husband wouldn’t have it any other way.
