Jamie Foxx, 54, of Django Unchained fame, has had a long and prosperous career in Hollywood, but he did not have a good upbringing. Jamie, on the other hand, has made certain that his sister Deondra Dixon is well cared for and receives all of the enjoyment that he did not have as a youngster. The Oscar-winning actor paid respect to his late sister who had Down Syndrome with a social media post in October 2022.
When the actor was born shortly after graduating from high school, his mom decided to place him for adoption. Jamie was adopted by Estelle and Mark Talley, who had already adopted Jamie’s mom. Jamie grew up in Terrell, Texas, a little town 35 miles east of Dallas. He remembers being an energetic child with a vivid imagination who enjoyed watching television and imitating the actors. Estelle also remarked on his abilities, saying this boy’s wild. He merely keeps speaking in the manner of individuals on television.
Foxx found at the age of 16 that he has a biological sister called Deondra Dixon from his mom Louise Annette and stepfather George Dixon. Jamie adored Deondra, who was born with Down Syndrome.
The actor revealed that he had a special-needs sibling. One thing people may not realize is that the affection that an individual with special needs gives you is unfiltered. There’s nothing stopping them from liking you, and nothing stopping them from being unhappy with you. Deondra has shown her thanks to Jamie in various appearances and occasions when she was joined by her brother.
Foxx determined that once Deondra finished high school, she should move in with him forever. The actor has always encouraged her to follow her aspirations and desire for dance, and has made certain that she has every opportunity to showcase her skill to the world.
Jamie told the news site that his entire family is shocked and grieved by Deondra’s death, and that they are coping with their grief by recalling happy memories of her. The family is gradually healing from Deondra’s death, and the actor believes that ‘it’s becoming better as time goes on, but they still mourn her greatly.’
Jamie Foxx carries the spirit of his late sister with him. Deondra Dixon was also a Global Down Syndrome Foundation ambassador, and she received the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award!
