The phrase “Bennifer” may spring to mind from frosted lip gloss and butterfly clips, but everything comes back in style at some point. Nearly two decades after their world-famous relationship, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are enjoying time together. This time, Ben Affleck has truly excelled himself.
Jennifer Lopez posted a nearly 4-minute music video made (or, more likely, commissioned) by her boyfriend in a new piece on her newsletter, On the JLo. The music video for “On My Way: The Remix” blends a performance of the song with images and footage from their early 2000s romance. It all came to a close with a romantic kissing selfie of the couple from their revived romance, which began in Spring 2021.
Lopez spoke on the significance of Affleck’s “really meaningful” gesture in the video, which you can see below. She explained that she is going to reveal something really unique and intimate with you that she would typically only discuss with my inner circle.
She added, “Ben gave it to me as an early Valentine’s Day present. Watching it made me think about true love’s journey, its surprising twists and turns, and how, when it’s genuine, it can endure a lifetime. This truly melted my heart.”
Jennifer Lopez highlighted why her present relationship is made to last in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. She said that she doesn’t believe they would have gotten back together if they felt that was the direction things were going. They felt that what they rediscovered is so important and how they can safeguard it and live their lives-what to share and what not to share-is the balance that they have now, the advantage of experience and knowledge learned over the years.
This isn’t the first time she’s spoken up about her and Affleck’s unusual “love story.” Lopez revealed how they’ve evolved as a pair since their 2004 breakup in early February. Lopez expressed saying it’s a lovely love tale that they got a second chance.
In her words, “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance,” Lopez told. “Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naive and it got a little trampled. We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”
