JonBenét Ramsey’s Dad Asks Colorado To Conduct More DNA Testing In 6-Year-Old’s Death

The dad of JonBenét Ramsey has long declared that he will devote the rest of his life to finding out what caused his daughter’s untimely death. He is currently moving forward with that procedure. More than 25 years have passed since 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was discovered dead on Christmas Day in the family’s basement after reportedly being kidnapped earlier that morning.

The Ramsey family came under a lot of early suspicion in the case, with many people still holding the opinion that either John Ramsey, his since-deceased wife Patsy Ramsey, or son Burke Ramsey was guilty for the young girl’s murder by strangling. After a ten-year media circus, members of the family were finally exonerated in the probe in 2008.

At CrimeCon 2022 in Las Vegas in late April 2022, John Ramsey, who is now 78 years old, discussed his ongoing ambitions to pursue justice. In an effort to finally provide the family with peace, he has started a new petition requesting Colorado Governor Jared Polis to undertake a fresh, independent inquiry into the killing.

In an interview during the event, Ramsey said, it’s a petition to hopefully get the state of Colorado to step in and have the objects from the crime scene that should be tested for DNA but haven’t been tested.

Ramsey believes that public appeals to a well-known individual will advance the cause. He claims that even though it isn’t technically designated as such, it is handled as a cold case.

According to Ramsey, artifacts may be examined for DNA evidence utilizing new technology, which could provide an explanation. The Boulder Police Department, in a statement in response to Ramsey’s remarks and petition, asserts the contrary.

According to Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold, they have a common purpose to bring justice and maybe some peace to JonBenet’s family and all who were touched by her death.

With collaborators at the federal, state, and local levels, their inquiry has never ceased. This contains novel applications of DNA technology. Modern technology has been employed consistently since it has been essential to their inquiry. They made considerable effort to make sure the proof could be put to the test whenever DNA technology updated.

The BPD also presented case statistics, stating that they have investigated 21,016 tips, letters, and emails and gone to 19 states to speak with more than 1,000 people in relation to the death of JonBenét. They claim that as recently as March 2022, they were working on the case with other federal, state, and local authorities. There are more than 2,000 signatures on the petition demanding answers.
