A Florida man has been charged of viciously raping, assaulting, and starving a woman for five days until she attempted to flee and ask for assistance.
Charles Tanner, 51, was arrested on sexual violence, aggravated battery, felony battery, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, and sexual cyberharassment charges in Brevard County on Wednesday.
He was still being detained without bond at the county prison on Friday, pending his arraignment on July 26. Per an affidavit for an arrest warrant, the event occurred on June 8, when the claimed victim, known only by her initials, A.H., turned up to a neighbor’s house nude and badly bruised.
The letter revealed in graphic detail how the lady was regularly molested and battered, also with a cucumber and a corn cob, lashed with an electrical cable, refused food and drink, and threatened with a knife.
According to the victim, she has known Tanner for five years and was in a relationship with him that ended a month ago.
According to the court complaint, she stated that on June 3, she went to Tanner’s house after he promised to provide her whatever narcotics she desired.
Tanner allegedly requested intercourse from the lady after she “enjoyed her high” for a couple of hours. After an hour of consenting sex, the situation escalated when the lady disclosed to Tanner that she had a tryst with another guy during their relationship.
According to the affidavit, the accused then kicked A.H. in the head. The affidavit claimed that over the following few days, the defendant would hit A.H. with a closed fist and berate her over being dishonest during their relationship.
Tanner reportedly used methamphetamines, forced himself on the lady, or forced her to perform oral sex on him “to the point of her puking into a bucket” during the encounter, according to the statement.
The lady said she was sexually abused at least ten times while in captivity, including being raped with a “plastic sex toy, a cucumber, and a corn cob,” according to the petition.
Tanner reportedly took photographs of himself entering her using the victim’s phone and shared them to her pals and her dad on Facebook while she was in and out of consciousness.
Tanner reportedly slept on top of her or in a chair blocking the bedroom door to prevent the lady from leaving at night. Tanner reportedly threatened the woman several times that he was going to murder her and held a butcher knife to her cheek on one instance.
According to the complaint, Tanner, who was growing increasingly paranoid due to his lengthy use of methamphetamine, informed the lady that if police showed up at his house, he would “slit her neck with a knife.”
After five days of rapes and beatings that left the lady with two fractured ribs, she eventually tried to sneak from beneath Tanner’s sleeping body and run for aid to a neighbor’s house.
Tanner has a criminal past in Florida, according to authorities, including a 2013 instance in which he was arrested on identical allegations after a lady was seen running nude from his house.
Tanner reportedly kept the woman against her will for many days, during which time he reportedly beat and raped her and used her phone to video himself peeing and defecating on her.
