Melissa McCarthy claims she ‘hit the jackpot’ with spouse Ben Falcone, who proposed only 17 years after they met.

Melissa McCarthy revealed on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in August 2021 how she met her future husband, Ben Falcone, in Southern Illinois, where the latter grew up.

Melissa, who was three years older than Ben, was already in college and a freshman, while he was in high school. But, the duo finally became friends after meeting again in Los Angeles a week later.

Ben admitted to the actress that he knew her before they became friends but was first terrified of her. Melissa understood he was speaking the truth after debating with him that he’d never recognized her before.

When he admitted to being scared of her, the actress realized he was referring to her! Melissa was into the Goth lifestyle at the time and terrified individuals, however Ben’s buddies desired their parents would let them dress like the actress.

Ben joked that when he initially fell in love with her, she was wearing a big black cloak and had blue-dyed hair. Melissa was interviewed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in October 2018, when she expounded on how they met.

She said that they both went to a party while she was in college and he was in high school. Ten years later, they reconnected at the Groundlings Theater, where they were both taking a comedy class.

Melissa remembered Ben being silent and odd on stage as a convict who was in love with his cellmate. The other students had to lean in to hear Ben.

The two bonded throughout class and became buddies from that point forward. They had no idea they were intended to be together, that they would marry and have kids.

She was hit with the lucky stick with Ben, the “Bridesmaids” actress revealed on the cover of More magazine in 2013. The actor acknowledged with her, saying, they got hit with the same lucky stick.

In an interview with People magazine in 2020, she stated that having a long-term relationship was about meeting somebody one was “better with.” She hailed the actor-director as encouraging and insightful.

The actress revealed that Ben made her laugh with her gut four or five times a day, making her feel like she’d “won the lottery!” Melissa thought that the actor spent his life with compassion.

Ben chose to propose to Melissa, his then-girlfriend, in 2004. Since she was a homebody, he recognized her favorite spot was their Los Angeles home and wanted to keep the proposal modest.

The “Tammy” actor opted to propose on their porch, but he first contacted his girlfriend’s parents. He grabbed them iced coffee and bagels, dressed up well, and nervously called out to her using her name as he prepared for the big moment.

Melissa felt it odd that he addressed her by her given name rather than her pet moniker, “Mooch.” She began to believe she was in danger and that he intended to end their relationship!

When Ben and his girlfriend stepped out onto the back porch, they heard a knock on the door. Melissa had phoned the contractor to redo the bathroom tiles that day, and the actor had no idea!

Ben began to consider his alternatives, including taking her to the dog park they both enjoyed, yet he didn’t believe it was a suitable location to propose. Melissa was playing Tetris and watching an autopsy show on TV when the contractor finally departed.

Her boyfriend arrived immediately and asked her if she wanted to marry him! When the actress remembered how he’d yelled the proposal at her “like he hates her,” she dropped the Tetris and burst into tears!

Ben finally desired to know the reply since his fiancée was weeping and hadn’t answered due to exhaustion. Finally, after years of dating, the celebrity received the response he desired!

Ben and Melissa married on May 5, 2007, and their first child, a daughter called Vivian, was born on May 5, 2007. In 2020, the small girl expressed a desire to follow in her parents’ footsteps.

In 2016, she played a minor role in her mother’s film “The Boss.” For months, Vivian had been begging her parents if she could participate in the film, and while Ben and Melissa kept saying no, the small girl ultimately asked why she wasn’t going to be permitted to attempt.

The “Spy” actress praised her kid for her determination and for making an excellent request. They spent the following month testing her abilities, and Vivial nailed it!

Aside from performing, Vivian inherited her mother’s passion for interior design. Georgette or Georgie, her younger sister, joined the family on February 11, 2010, and her mom described her as a “daredevil.”

Georgette enjoyed mimicking her mother and replicating her flips and antics.

Aside from her daring side, the youngster also learnt to play the violin. Georgette pleaded to be in their mother’s film when Vivian was cast in it, and she received a little part!

Melissa admitted in 2019 that she had less obstacles and more delights when parenting her kids. The issues, though, were about her worrying if she was doing enough for them.

The Golden Globe winner was astounded by her girls and complimented them for making parenting simple. Ben’s wife praised her brood as humorous, intellectual, and strange, confessing that she believed they were better than her, and adding they’re older than she was when she was their age. She felt like she had to push almost 30 to acquire their level of confidence, so it’s great to see.

Her and Ben’s parenting method involved them teaching their kids to be decent and kind as a way of giving goodness back to the world. In their household, the pair valued laughing and joy.

Melissa and her husband made an effort to cherish every time they spent with their girls as they were growing up so quickly. They sometimes turned away career possibilities to be with them since they prioritized their family!

Melissa and Ben seem to have found the proper ingredients in a world where it’s difficult to discover a love that lasts forever. The actress shared a photo of herself and her husband kissing on their wedding day on October 8, 2020.

She stated that they had been married for 15 years at the time. Melissa was thankful every day for marrying someone humorous, kind, and strange, and in August 2021, he posted a flashback photo from 14 years ago.

Ben noted that the shot was taken during a friend’s wedding, which he and Melissa thoroughly enjoyed. He said that the wedding was lovely, but that his wife made it so “simply by being herself.”

The actor considered himself fortunate to have married an individual who was insanely hilarious, intellectual, gorgeous, and kind. Before proclaiming his affection, he ended the letter by wishing his wife, “Mooch,” a happy birthday.

Ben uploaded a photo of him and his wife dancing from 16 years ago in October 2021. He expressed gratitude for marrying “the most lovely person in the world,” before wishing her a happy anniversary.

Melissa’s husband wished them 400 more years of marriage, assuming that some of them will be spent with the couple being somewhat robotic! According to his post, the pair enjoyed a love and friendly connection that was full of fun!
