The Back to the Future actor recently confessed that his Parkinson’s condition is taking an increasing toll on him, and he spoke up about his own mortality in the process.
One does not die from Parkinson’s, Fox said. One dies of Parkinson’s. He has been worrying about its mortality. He is not going to live to be 80.
However, there was reason for celebration in the Fox home yesterday, as Michael’s son, Sam, celebrated his 34th birthday. To commemorate the event, Michael said on Instagram, “Happy Birthday to my big bouncing baby boy @palekidd you are the best. Proud to be your pops. Love you!“
Sam Michael Fox got his start in the entertainment world at a young age, working as an extra on Spin City when he was 10 years old. Max attended Friends Seminary, a Manhattan private school, before entering Stanford University, where he graduated in 2012.
Fans have often remarked on the resemblance between Sam and his famous father, as the two seem quite similar.
Sam has recently worked on many projects, including the short film Good Grief and his father’s forthcoming documentary, Still: A Michael J. Fox Film.
In fact, Still has been a media talking point over the last two weeks, spurred in no small part by Michael J. Fox’s promotional interviews. The 61-year-old’s documentary will provide audiences with a never-before-seen glimpse at Fox’s 30-year fight with Parkinson’s disease, and Fox himself was open about his illness.
He is in excruciating pain. Each tremor is like a seismic jolt, he says in the documentary.
Meanwhile, in an interview, he said that it’s not so much pain from movement as it is from not moving. It’s when one freezes, and that not-movement gets filled with all of this energy, and it becomes this searing, imminent thing that never occurs.
He does not want to bring out the violins. He has fractured his hand, elbow, humerus, other humerus, shoulder, face, and a few more bones. And the electricity of the tremors enhances everything.
Certainly, it aches a lot. But one quickly discovers that nobody gives a s—. It’s simply a part of life. It makes no difference. One swallows it and goes on. And it could have a tale to tell. But that’s all. There is no chit that one may provide for a refund window.
Fox, who announced his retirement from acting in 2021, raised eyebrows in March when he said that he was not going to lie. It’s becoming more difficult. It’s becoming more difficult. Every day is more difficult. But, but, that’s just how it is. He implies that who does he speak to about that?
