A Columbus, Georgia family is mourning the death of three members following an automobile accident triggered by a wrong-way motorist on Friday night.
Byron Jakes, his partner Katrina, and their daughter, Kamryn, were reportedly on their way home after a football game on Friday in which Byron and Katrina’s son and Kamryn’s brother Braylon had played.
According to cops, the trio was travelling when a car entered their lane, causing a head-on collision that led their vehicle to explode into flames.
Things went wrong, said Braylon and Kamryn’s grandma, Jacqueline Jakes. Never anticipated anything like this ever.
Braylon, a student at Carver High School, was playing football versus Thomasville on Friday night.
The 15-year-old walked home with his buddies, while his dad Byron, 45, mother Katrina, 43, and sister Kamryn, 10, drove.
Those were her kids, but now she has Braylon to love on, Jacqueline explained. She has to stand firm for him.
It’s difficult to lose a kid, but she simply can’t think and imagine having to bury the entire family, she stated.
Braylon has indeed lost his mother, father, and sister, yet according to his grandma, he is doing his hardest to remain optimistic and maintain some sense of normalcy in his life.
Braylon is still holding in there, Jacqueline remarked.
He’s doing well. He’s now laughing and joyful. His football squad was here yesterday and had a great time. He laughed and played. He’s doing OK right now.
Tamika Huff-Johnson, a family friend of Katrina’s, stated that she was such a nice and kind lady.
She just enters into a room and lights everything up. She has a certain atmosphere. She’s one of a kind. Kamryn exuded the same wonderful radiance… One couldn’t help but laugh. Just wonderful individuals… Byron, the same, just to the point. One could know how he felt since he was going to inform one the truth.
At this unbearably painful time, my heart goes out to Braylon and the rest of the Jakes family’s loved ones.
