Louise Thomsen, an Australian mother, took to her Facebook page to share a snapshot of her 7-year-old son snoozing in his car seat. The mother shared that few of his colleagues have been irritating him that he’s still being driven around in a baby seat. Thomsen clarified that no parent wishes their kid to experience mockery but the data speak for themselves concerning kids & approved car seats, particularly when they doze off in their seats.
Thomsen suggested to take all the aspects into deliberation while making these selections. She wrote that instead of just following the trend, it is wiser to follow the safest choice to guard your family.

The mother shared in her updated post that her son is about to be shift to the next level of seat as he has overcome the height requirements for this specific seat as per government rule but it still fits as per their safety rules.
In 2018, The American Academy of Pediatrics restructured its endorsements for car seats and concentrating more on height and weight restrictions over age limits bearing in mind when a kid shift to the next level of seat in a car. For example, rear-facing car seats are suggested for kids up to 40 pounds and forward-facing car seats with a connect are suggested for kids up to 65 pounds or even more if the car seat maker permits for it. The organisation basically indorses keeping kids in car seats as long as their weight and height fall within the manufacturer’s limits.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention records that a correctly fitted car seat decreases the possibility for a damage during a car accident in kids by 71% to 82% in contrast to having them in a seat belt.
Thomsen’s Facebook post about her son in his car seat echoed with other parents and they shared their individual choices to keep their kid in a car seat. One parent shared that their almost 7-year-old is still in a baby seat and said that about a year ago, they met with a horrible accident and saw how secure their son was in that seat. This made the parent realised that that it’s the correct choice for them.
Thomsen said that she is certainly not happy about the fact that her son is being harassed for being in a baby seat and added that possibly if more kids were in the similar seat, they wouldn’t be so swift to make nasty comments.
