Mother Charged for Throwing Her Infant on the Street Leading to the Child’s Death

A Mississippi mother has been accused with capital murder after reportedly putting her 2-month-old baby on the street, resulting in the child’s death. According to reports, Makaylia Shaylynn Jolley, 20, “over and over again and violently” put her infant, Pearl, into the road. After receiving many 911 calls, police located another lady, Khalysie Lashay Jolley, who was seriously hurt. According to a news release from the Pearl Police Department, Makaylia fled into the nearby woods but was immediately apprehended.

Dean Scott, the head of police, stated, all they can do at this moment is pray for the youngster. The Good Lord calculates this child is excessively really great for this world. Makaylia is the mother of a son who is currently in the care of his grandmother and Makaylia is also known to local narcotics detectives.

When the fire crew and paramedics arrived, they gave the child CPR before transferring her to Children’s Hospital of Mississippi in Jackson, where she was listed in critical condition. According to Chief Dean Scott, “We closed down the city of Pearl. I’ll claim she was heavily escorted.”

On Saturday, officials confirmed that Khalysie had died as a consequence of her injuries. According to a neighbor, “I don’t get it. Something was certain to go wrong. Or something like that. Because she (Makaylia) is an excellent mother.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with the infant’s funeral expenses. “My great granddaughter has died suddenly and I’m stunned just writing this,” the child’s great grandma Paula Stolley said on the campaign page. “We would highly appreciate it if y’all can give anything possible!” She said, “We do not have the cash to address this because it was unexpected and sad! We want to thank everyone for the prayers that have been sent our way. God bless you all.” Until date, the page has raised over $4,000 in donations.

In addition to the capital murder accusation, Makaylia has been accused with criminal child abuse. Her first court appearance is scheduled on Tuesday. Until yet, it is unknown whether she has an attorney or has entered a plea.
