Catherine Farrell Breen, 31, a mother of two daughters Loretta, 8, and Larissa,7, who works as a waitress was heart broken when her home on Clopton Road Garretts Green, Birmingham was burgled. After breaking through a rear door, they robbed coins in a jar worth £384 and a Nintendo Switch.
However, Ms Farrell-Breen’s daughter Phoenix ashes were in an urn that was also stolen from the top of a wardrobe. Phoenix was her beloved first child who was a stillborn. In August she would turn 10. The mom and her two daughters would go bowling to celebrate Phoenix’s birthday. They always remember her fondly.
She felt that the thief must have thought the vase was a costly one due to the gold colour but in reality it was worth nothing.
She said, “It is of no monetary value but it just means the world to me. I ask these people: if you have a heart, please return it. This has just brought everything back to me- the heartache of losing Phoenix. It is like it is happening all over again.’
West Midlands Police have circulated a request about the callous robbery. The police have posted an identical urn picture and asked to help find the vase by explaining the situation.
“The urn contains the ashes of the homeowner’s first child, who was stillborn almost ten years ago, so we are desperate to get it back to her.” tweeted the police.
The police assume that they must have discarded it somewhere by learning it has little monetary value so hoping somebody may come across and contact the police.
The police also stated that if any information regarding this case they should get in touch via Live Chat on their website quoting crime reference 20/193726/22 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
Since the request, Ms Farrell-Breen has been stunned and grateful with how several people have been trying to locate the urn.
This is the last piece of the daughter this grieving mother could hold too. Hope the mother gets the urn undamaged.
Please share this so that whoever is responsible for it has the heart to return it.
