Jen Tringale was astounded by what she saw in Nashville. While going through the international airport, a sound drew her attention and prompted her to swiftly bring out her phone to record the scenario happening in front of her. She said in the Facebook description accompanying the video that she observed a major international airport come to a total halt.
Indeed, that was an amazing sight. When hundreds of passengers waited for their planes at the airport, everything came to a halt. Undoubtedly, passengers had places to be and a limited amount of time to get there, yet all of that was temporarily put on hold when a flight attendant made a statement. Suddenly, an unexpected sound quickly filled the air.
Using a megaphone above the din of the crowd, the airline personnel announced that they had some special visitors with them that day. The children of deceased military men were boarding their aircraft for Disneyworld on an all-expenses-paid excursion. And they wanted to bestow a particular distinction on them.
As soon as “The Star-Spangled Banner” started to play, everybody at the airport stopped what they were doing out of respect. During the performance, troops saluted the youngsters as busy travelers placed their palms over their hearts. Everything came to a spectacular halt for a second.
Jen writes in her article, “At the Nashville airport, I walked out into the concourse to this scene.” “@americanairlines was flying a plane full of children who had lost a parent in combat to Disneyworld on an all expenses-paid trip, and they threw a party for them at the gate,” she said.
“But when they announced them over the loudspeaker and they lined up to board the plane, the whole airport literally stopped and sang the national anthem with the military present in salute,” Jen added, describing the touching event she shot on camera.
Jen Tringale described the exhibit as “very humbling” and said, almost everyone in attendance, including me, was in tears at the sight of these children and spouses who have sacrificed so much for their nation.
She stated, that it was breathtaking to see the whole populace at an airport stop to celebrate these children. Apparently, social media users agree, as the video rapidly went viral and received the accolades it merits.
I witnessed an international airport come to a complete stop today … At the Nashville airport I walked out into the concourse to this scene @americanairlines was flying a plane full of children who had lost a parent in combat, to Disneyworld on an all expenses paid trip and they threw a party for them at the gate❤️But when they announced them over the loud speaker and they lined up to board the plane the whole airport literally stopped and sang the national anthem with military present in salute. Most every person standing around, myself included was bawling at the sight of these kids and spouses who have paid so great a price for our country. To see all of this at Christmas time was so humbling. Seeing the general public in an airport stand still to honor these kids was simply beauitful. @bna_airport #nashville #fallenwarriors Gary Sinise Foundation #america #snowballexpress #christmas Garysinise
