Kaylin Gillis, 20, was shot and killed by a New York homeowner when the driver of the vehicle she was in parked into the incorrect driveway while seeking a friend’s house. Kaylin was driving with three other people at the time. She was the only one who received a gunshot wound.
Kevin Monahan, 65, reportedly fired two rounds from his patio at the car. This occurred when the driver of the automobile, realizing he had arrived at the incorrect property, was backing out of his driveway.
The companions in the vehicle drove away until they reached a location with good phone coverage, which was a neighboring town, and were able to contact for assistance. When first responders came, Kaylin was declared dead.
This comes only a few days after 16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot and seriously injured by a Kansas City homeowner after ringing the incorrect doorbell. He was on his way to pick up his siblings when he went to the incorrect address.
During a news conference, Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy said that this is a very sad case of some young adults who were searching for a friend’s house and ended up at this man’s house, who chose to come out with a firearm and discharge it.
