Suzanne Somers has always been one of my favorite people because she is down-to-earth, hilarious, and motivating. The well-known actress, singer, author, entrepreneur, and health spokeswoman has shown that she is a creative thinker and doer.
Her profession as an actress began in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when she began performing in game shows, movies, and comedies. The 76-year-old actress rose to prominence after starring in Three’s Company as ditzy blonde Chrissy Snow in one of the finest TV comedies of all time.
Suzanne was a character on the show who played a stereotypically stupid blonde. Many of us will always remember her as Chrissie from Three’s Company.
Regrettably, her departure from the series was contentious. There are several theories as to why Suzanne Somers had to quit Three’s Company, but all of them include money. Others claim that her issue was that she asked for the same pay as John Ritter, who they say is the “real” star of the show.
Suzanne demanded a big pay boost after four seasons on the Emmy-winning TV program in late 1980. She was tired of the fact that the males on the program got paid more. The excellent actress chose to fight for what she believed in, demanding between $30,000 and $150,000 per episode as well as a 10% stake in the show’s revenues. ABC’s response? They instructed her to walk.
Her connection with the actors of Three’s Company soured when she left the show. Suzanne and John Ritter had not spoken to each other in 20 years.
But, soon before his death in 2003, Ritter called his old co-star, and they reunited.
When she appeared in Three’s Company, Suzanne seemed to have a promising acting career ahead of her. She was well-liked by the public and a household name, and she was undoubtedly headed for greater roles. Yet, after leaving the popular ABC show, the worldwide sex icon struggled to maintain relevance.
Suzanne tried her luck on other TV programs and had some success, but it was difficult for her to regain the popularity she enjoyed in the late 1970s.
She is now well known for things other than acting.
The California native is the author of four diet books, two autobiographies, and a series of self-help books. Suzanne is an entrepreneur and a supporter of alternative medicine.
Several of her publications are about ageing and how to remain “Sexy Forever” – her objective is to age gracefully, and no one can say she hasn’t succeeded.
Many believe the 76-year-old powerhouse still looks half her age. With all she’s lived through, it’s rather impressive that she can stay in shape.
Suzanne was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2000.
Suzanne had a lumpectomy to remove the malignancy. She also had radiation treatment, but she declined chemotherapy. Rather, she defied the doctor’s advice and was treated with Iscador, a fermented mistletoe extract.
Suzanne opted to alter her food and sleeping habits after her therapy. For years, the 76-year-old has advocated for a healthy lifestyle, claiming that her breast cancer diagnosis in 2000 was a wake-up call.
She now only eats organic food and uses fresh herbs for medication.
According to the celebrity, just eating “clean food” has enabled her to preserve a young look.
Suzanne Somers will be 77 on October 16th. In 2019, she did it in a birthday suit, something many of us can only dream of.
Suzanne was seen kneeling in a field of flowers and grass in Palm Springs, California. The former Three’s Company actress bared it all on Instagram, where she received several encouraging comments, while others claimed she was “too old” to be behaving this way and thought it was “poor taste.”
Although some may think it’s controversial, the outpouring of affection and encouragement she got on her 73rd birthday proved different. Several people took advantage of the chance to wish her a happy birthday. Others commended her for posting a naked photo on social media.
Suzanne seems to be compassionate, modest, and content to be open about her health practices.
It’s wonderful that she has impacted so many individuals with her candor and books; many women keep their aging secrets to themselves. Suzanne, thank you for all the amazing memories on the screen and for being an inspiration! You are a fantastic person and a living legend!
