Over the weekend, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, and Prince William made their first combined public appearance in years when they visited Windsor Castle to meet visitors at Queen Elizabeth’s monument. Even though the four of them being in the same area at the same time was a significant thing in and of itself, one exchange between Meghan and a royal staffer drew a lot of attention.
One of the persons she spoke to in the crowd had handed her a bunch of flowers, saying that she’d put them where they belonged. Meghan declined to give them up when an assistant tried to remove them from her.

We can’t hear Meghan say anything in the video, but some believe she stated, “I told them I’d position them over there, so you’re okay! Thank you, I appreciate that.”
Many individuals appeared to feel that Meghan should have just followed tradition, and they weren’t afraid to say so on Twitter.
“I’m happy William put a stop to her attention-grabbing grift (assuming rumors that she planned her pap stroll laying flowers individually are accurate), but how horribly sad that he and the rest of the royals had to be on alert against her antics during their time of loss,” one person remarked.
The internet backlash has been ferocious.
Of course, if you’ve been following the royal family since Meghan’s arrival in 2018, you’ll know that this is nothing new. Indeed, after witnessing the hate directed at her online, it’s clearer than ever why she and Prince Harry chose to relocate to the United States in the first place.
Luckily, she is not being chastised by all. Others have rushed to her defense.
Many people believed Meghan’s desire to honor the commitments she’d made to those waiting at Windsor Castle was laudable, and they posted additional videos from the same day that showed she’d done so for other well-wishers.
Perhaps she simply wanted to make sure the flowers went where they deserved to go herself, as she had promised?
Many individuals were pleased to meet Meghan at the walkabout.
Meghan was clearly a welcome presence at Windsor Castle that day, based on the videos and images of her arrival, so maybe she isn’t becoming discouraged by all the internet vitriol.
The flowers weren’t even the only thing Meghan Markle placed at the gate for civilians.

She did it for more than one person, and you didn’t even see it all televised.
So tell me again how she just did it for attention. #WeLoveYouMeghan pic.twitter.com/5yTf2tB1zg
Many folks are relieved to have her in the UK during such a tough time of loss and we have no doubt that Harry is relieved to have her by his side through it all.
