An incredibly cute child who was killed after wandering out of a vacation house and into a road while his parents believed he was sleeping has been photographed for the first time.
Brandon Thomas Byrne, a 21-month-old boy from Ballinagare in Co. Roscommon, was killed when he was hit by a jeep soon after 9 a.m. on Friday morning.
The youngster and his parents, Louise Kehir and Andrew Byrne, are said to be Britons who travelled to Ireland to see family.
Andrew paid homage to his “darling son” stating he will adore him “till the end of time.”
Friends and relatives published a photo of Brandon smiling while chewing on his dummy in a funeral announcement. Brandon, the most lovely, light, and darling son of Louise Kehir and Andrew Byrne, and treasured grandson of James, Noelene, and Fran, they wrote.
Brandon left his bed on his own and walked out of the house while his parents were still sleeping.
Unfortunately, the crash happened because a neighboring householder, who was pulling into his own property, failed to notice the youngster.
When the guy realized what had happened, he quickly informed the residents of the neighboring house, who originally assumed he was wrong.
The parents soon realized, however, that Brandon was not in bed or anywhere else in the home.
They were a couple from the UK staying at a family member’s property in a fairly remote region approximately two miles outside Ballinagare, according to the source.
A neighbor who owns fields nearby was pulling onto his property when he saw a bump. When he got out of his vehicle and noticed the kid, he dashed to the home and notified the residents.
At the time, the parents were still in bed and assured him that their youngster was still sleeping. Sadly, they quickly realized that this was not the case and that the boy had escaped on his own. Something like this can occur to anyone, and it’s a terrible event that has struck the town.
After a Mass of the Angels at the Church of St. Philip the Apostle, Mountview, Clonsilla, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the toddler will be buried at Mulhaddart Cemetery.
Authorities are investigating the event, according to a Garda spokeswoman, although no foul play is suspected. Gardai are asking anyone who has dashcam footage to turn it over to detectives.
Garda also said that forensic crash investigators and a family liaison officer designated to help the baby’s family had conducted a technical inspection of the scene.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, many locals have resorted to social media to offer their condolences. ‘May his youthful lovely spirit rest in peace,’ one woman remarked.
‘It’s a tremendous disaster, there’s a great pain in the local community,’ said Father George Adzato of the Mountview and Blakestown parish.
They pray for the deceased and their loved ones, especially young Brandon who was engaged in a horrible tragedy in their local region earlier this week, said local priest Father Neil Devine during a ceremony on Sunday.
He and the entire local district are extremely astonished, Father Divine stated. One never expects anything like that in their local parish, and no family should ever need to prepare for it. At this difficult moment, their thoughts and prayers are with this family.
Leaders in the area have also stated that the ‘pain’ is felt throughout Roscommon.
Shannonside was informed by local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice. ie: ‘It’s horrible news with the loss of this little youngster here in West Roscommon, and it’s really sad, and the local community is horrified and grieved by the news of this lad being murdered in this tragic tragedy.’
‘There has been widespread sadness and dismay among the larger community here in the Tulsk-Bellanagare region,’ said Cllr Liam Callaghan. At this extremely sad and tragic moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
‘You hear these tales in various parts of the country at different times, yet when it comes to your own doorstep, the full truth slams home, and tragically, it has come to our town today.’ I have no doubt that the community will come together to support the family.’
Independent Councillor Tom Corsby, Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, said: ‘It’s an incredibly sad incident in our region, and I’d like to send my sympathies to the child’s family, neighbors, and pals.’ In a catastrophe like this, everyone feels the pain.’
