Lisa Marie Presley was born on February 1, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee, to parents Elvis and Priscilla Presley. She was one of the most famous kids at the time. Sadly, she died on Jan. 12, 2023, at the age of 54, after being brought to an emergency hospital after being discovered comatose in her California home.
Lisa Marie was born exactly nine months after her parents got married in a quick ceremony in their room at Las Vegas’ Aladdin Hotel. Upon Elvis’ death in 1977, she was named as a beneficiary in her father’s will, alongside her grandpa Vernon and great-grandmother Minnie. Vernon died in 1979, and Minnie died a year later. As a result, Lisa Marie was the sole living beneficiary of Elvis’ trust. She inherited her father’s inheritance, which had risen to $100 million, in 1993.
She was Elvis’s only daughter; hence, her four children were his only grandkids. Lisa Marie shared her twins, Harper and Finley, with her ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, as well as actress Riley Keough and her late son, Benjamin Keough. She was also notably married to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage, both of whom were music stars.
Lisa Marie inherited her father’s Memphis mansion, commonly known as Graceland, as the only child of the King of Rock and Roll. After Lisa Marie’s death, there has been speculation over who would inherit Graceland, resulting in a legal struggle between her mom and the sole surviving successor named in her testament, her oldest daughter.
Lisa Marie was declared dead on January 12, 2023, after being brought to a Los Angeles hospital after experiencing cardiac arrest. Her maid discovered her unresponsive at her Calabasas, California, home. Danny Keough, her ex-husband, was there at the incident and performed CPR on her until emergency personnel came.
Joel Weinshanker, a managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises and one of Lisa Marie’s spokesmen, appeared on Elvis Radio on Sirius XM to discuss the late singer’s last wishes.
Weinshanker made the comment after Entertainment Tonight got court paperwork proving Priscilla’s claim to Lisa Marie’s bequest.
According to the records, Priscilla was contending that the alteration that removed her from the will and installed Riley and Benjamin was “purported.”
Priscilla was disputing the will’s legitimacy, claiming that the modified or revised form of the will was never handed to her prior to Lisa Marie’s death, as required under the will. Furthermore, Priscilla said that her name was misspelled, and Lisa Marie’s signatures looked inconsistent with her usual signatures.
In the same interview, Weinshanker asserted emphatically that Lisa Marie was very, very definite and fairly plain about who she intended to leave her legacy to.
Priscilla pursued legal proceedings notwithstanding Weinshanker’s confirmation that Lisa Marie wished to leave Graceland to her kids. Priscilla was certain that the ancient paperwork related to Lisa Marie’s will had been faked.
After Lisa Marie’s death, the present scenario between Keough and Priscilla was characterized by the site as tight and painful.
Both sides claimed to be getting ready for court, despite Keough’s preference to settle her mom’s contentious will quietly.
In an interview, Weinshanker declared that Riley and Ben will always be the caretakers of Graceland.
According to the outlet, Keough was heartbroken that the fight had become public, understanding that her mom, who was a very private individual, would never want this.
Keough has remained upbeat because of her daughter and spouse, particularly since her upcoming Amazon Original series, “Daisy Jones & The Six,” is planned to launch in March 2023.
Likewise, Priscila was stated to have been right in her heart to challenge her daughter’s trust and will.
