According to the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Police Department reported that Samantha Woll was discovered dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds in the 1300 block of Joliet Place. The authorities followed a trail of blood to her residence, where they suspect the crime occurred. CNN mentioned that the police have not yet determined a motive for the incident, and the Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.

The FBI, in a statement to CNN, acknowledged the incident and offered assistance to the Detroit Police Department as needed. 

The Detroit Free Press also noted that Samantha Woll had previously worked on the reelection campaign for Rep. Elissa Slotkin and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel before joining the board of the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue.

Rep. Elissa Slotkin, representing Michigan’s seventh congressional district, expressed her sorrow through a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) upon learning of Woll’s death. She described Samantha as an essential part of her team from the outset of her congressional tenure, contributing to the establishment and leadership of her office during her first term.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel posted a picture of herself with Woll on X, expressing shock, sadness, and horror at the brutal murder of Samantha. Nessel emphasized Samantha’s kindness, deep dedication to her community, state, and country, and her use of faith and activism to improve the lives of others.

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, in a statement on X, shared his profound sadness at the loss of Samantha Woll, a promising young leader in Detroit. He mentioned their recent shared experience at the dedication of the newly renovated Downtown Synagogue, a project that Woll had led with immense pride and enthusiasm.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, representing New York’s 16th Congressional District, expressed his deep distress on X about Samantha Woll’s stabbing death. He called for a focus on humanity and unity while highlighting her achievements and conveyed his hope that her memory serves as a blessing, concluding his message with a plea to end suffering.
