After struggling to build a family, Carlos and Erica Morales’ four children provided “the finest day of their life.” Then it happened.
After waiting years for Carlos Morales and his wife, Erica, to marry, the arrival of four children delivered what he called “the finest day of his life.”
However, in a terrible turn of events, happiness was followed by heartbreak: Erica died shortly after giving birth. The father is now parenting four children — three girls and one boy – on his own in Phoenix, Arizona. Two of the kids were returned to Morales, 29, soon after their birth in January. The other couple joined the family just a few weeks ago. “It feels so fantastic to have all four,” said Morales. All infants are healthy and growing. “It was a stroke of luck,” we say, “and we’re simply doing our best.” “I’m really thankful to everyone who got together and helped us,” he stated.
He explained how the community is distributing material assistance and cash gifts via the GoFundMe website. Sondra Bridges, Erica’s mother, has moved in with her son-in-law to care for the babies: Tracy, Paisley, Erica, and Carlos, Jr. She, like Morales, expressed thanks for the ongoing help her family has received. She remarked that it’s interesting how things ended up. It’s bittersweet, but thanks to God and the huge public support, it’s been fantastic.
Erica, who was still under anaesthesia, immediately slipped Hypovolemic Shock, an involving tremendous blood loss. She died within hours. Morales expressed that despite his anguish, he stayed firm for his kids. He explained that these children have no idea how many blessings they’ve bestowed upon him. They gave him four reasons to live.
