This is a horrific incident. Megan Hilty’s pregnant sister, brother-in-law, and niece were among those killed when the plane they were in crashed in Puget Sound over the weekend. We have no idea what their family is going through right now.
A floatplane carrying ten passengers crashed near Washington on Sunday. Though the reason of the flight is unknown, the US Coast Guard called off the search on Monday after recovering one unnamed female.
The family of Megan’s brother-in-law, Ross Mickel, has issued a statement on their tragic loss.
They are terribly grieved and crushed by the death of their beloved Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, Remy, and their unborn baby boy, Luca, the family expressed. Their mutual anguish is indescribable. They were a brilliant and sparkling light in everybody’s lives who knew them. They shall continue on their legacy despite the fact that their time with them was cut short.
The jet was believed to be leaving Friday Harbor and flying to Renton Municipal Airport. When the plane crashed in Munity Bay, some 30 miles outside Seattle, it was nearly halfway to its destination.
The accident killed all ten individuals on board the plane at the time.
Megan hasn’t been on social media since the news surfaced and hasn’t publicly responded to what transpired, though it goes without saying that this must be upsetting for her.
Since 2013, she has been married to Brian Gallagher, with whom she has two children, Viola and Ronan.
We can’t image what Megan’s family is currently going through, but we’re thinking of her and the rest of her family as they deal with a loss that no one should ever have to experience.
Let’s hope the family can take as much time as they need to mourn.
