Special needs girl and mom dead in suspected double murder suicide

After disappearing on a camping trip, a 16-year-old girl with special needs and her mom were discovered dead in a suspected murder suicide.

Gabrielle, who had Down Syndrome, and Dawna Roe, 51, of Caldwell, Idaho, were shot dead in a vehicle at a property near Drewsey, Oregon.

Workers at the site were terrified when they discovered the couple in an isolated place in a 2004 Toyota minivan.

On June 30, the mom and daughter went missing after informing their friends and relatives they were going camping.

Dawna had apparently resigned her job and was being probed by the CPS when they took off.

Officials had been searching for the couple for a week after their vacation, which relatives claimed was ‘out of character,’ but had only recovered their dead.

According to Caldwell Police Chief Rex Ingram, ‘preliminary evidence indicates it seems to be a murder suicide by shooting.’

No additional persons are being sought at this time, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. The toxicology and autopsy findings are still waiting.

Her youngest sister is 17 years old, she has Down Syndrome, and she is intellectually 6-7 years old, daughter Rebekah Roe stated before the news of their deaths broke. Her mum suffers from serious mental illness.

After abruptly quitting her job, her mom was being examined by CPS and chose to prepare herself and her sister for a “camping vacation.” She forgot to bring their SSI cards.

She has no camping equipment that she is knowledgeable about. She had previously threatened to harm her sister and then herself.

They haven’t been heard from in a week. Her sister, she feels, is in grave danger. Gabby has a true and pure spirit, commented another daughter, Mariah Villesca.

She has always exuded wonderful delight wherever she went, and everyone who met their child will cherish her tangible and unvarnished love for the rest of their lives.

Her mom fought and finally died from mental illness, and Gabby was also a victim of her sickness.

She is going to miss it. She’ll miss her smiles, laugh, and genuine, unadulterated love, Villesca wrote.

Her mother adored Gabby, she truly did. Gabrielle was her mother’s favourite of her six kids.

Because of how much her mother adored Gabby, many people assumed this would never occur. So many individuals didn’t listen to how severe things were.

When someone is unwell, they can look lucid. You have no idea what’s going on in their heads, she stated.

Gabrielle they call her Gabby. She was a diva. She was smart. She was intelligent. She had the purest heart, Villesca recalled of her sister.

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist pay for funeral expenses, and it has already raised $11,000.
