Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder are both industry icons. They’ve been around for a while and have consistently given hits for years.
Even at their advanced age, the two continue to entertain and amuse thousands of people!
Tony Bennett will turn 96 years old on August 3, 2022. Thousands of fans and friends from all around the world sent their best wishes to the musical great.
But there was one extremely unique request that Mr. Bennett couldn’t help but share with all. Stevie Wonder, the musical great, made the wish.
The duo has recorded successful music together and appears to still have a strong friendship due to how personal Stevie’s desire was and how much work the singer put into it.
The video is an extraordinarily unique arrangement of the song “Happy Birthday.” Stevie shouts out the words with his powerful voice while easily playing the song’s melody on his piano.
The request was certainly one-of-a-kind. So much so that Tony Bennett’s management staff published it on his Twitter account.
Tony Bennett is still performing and getting nominated for awards at the age of 96. “One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” his special with Lady Gaga, garnered him a shared Emmy nomination alongside the Grammy-winning singer and actress.
Bennett and Gaga’s final performance together was on the special. Since Tony was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016, the pair has been performing together for the previous several years. Gaga remarked at the closing of the program, Tony, they’re all so thankful to have watched his skill, generosity, ingenuity, kindness, and service throughout the years.
They have genuinely had a very remarkable cooperation throughout the years, resulting in a handful of Emmy nominations as well as general popular adulation.
At 96 years old, it appears that the singer is content to slow down a little.
