Bridger Walker is an extremely brave young man. The 6-year-old did something truly amazing when he protected his little sister from a very aggressive dog. In doing so, the dog attacked him instead, and he wound up at the hospital getting 90 stitches.
Said young Bridger: “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.”
News of his heroic actions went worldwide after his aunt posted about it with photos.
Actor Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Bruce Banner and the Hulk in Marvel’s Avengers movies, said he deeply admired the young boy’s courage.
He wrote to Bridger and said: … People who put the well being of others in front of themselves are the most heroic and thoughtful people I know. I truly respect your courage and heart. Real courage isn’t dominating people or fighting against people or walking around like a tough guy. Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it, even when it might end up hurting you somehow. You are more of a man than many, many I have seen or known.
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, sent Bridger a video, where he praised him for his bravery.
Many other celebrities also praised the young boy for his selfless actions. Some of those other celebrities include Hugh Jackman, Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway, who said: “I’m not an Avenger, but I know a super hero when I see one. I can only hope I’m half as brave in my life as you are in yours.”
