The Blind Side family is ending Michael Oher’s 19-year conservatorship.

The family that inspired Sandra Bullock’s 2009 thriller The Blind Side revealed that they would be terminating their conservatorship with Michael Oher.

Leigh and Sean Anne Tuohy took Oher under her wing over two decades ago, when he was a youngster facing homelessness.

Oher attended Ole Miss with the Touhys’ help and went on to be a first-round NFL draft choice.

However, Oher apparently discovered in February of this year that he had never been formally adopted by the Touhys, as he stated when he signed forms 19 years ago.

The paperwork really indicated that the Tuohys would become Oher’s conservators.

Oher launched a lawsuit against the family, accusing them of tricking him about his legal family status and profiting from his life.

Bullock played Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side, a 2009 film inspired by Oher’s narrative and based on Michael Lewis’ 2006 book of the same name.

The Tuohys’ lawyer has now stated that the couple will enter into a consent order to dissolve the conservatorship.

Marty Singer, another family attorney, has called Oher’s plea hurtful and ridiculous.

The idea that the Tuohys have ever sought to profit from Mr. Oher is not only offensive, but clearly ridiculous, Singer said.

He stated that his response was to threaten them, including saying that he would write a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million.

Meanwhile, Oher’s lawyer, Don Barrett, told that they try cases in court based on the evidence. They have faith in their legal system and in their client, Michael Oher. They think justice will be done in court and hope to get there soon.

Quinton Aaron, who played Oher in the film, issued a statement in the aftermath of the footballer’s complaint, saying he was ‘shocked’ by the allegations.

He said that, to be truthful, he is not up to date on all of the details of the matter. But he is praying for both families in the hopes that they will be able to reach an agreement that will make everyone whole.
