According to a recent court filing, Tiger Woods’ ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman, has accused him of sexual harassment.
Herman signed a non-disclosure agreement in 2017, however she claims it should be null and void since she was the victim of sexual assault by the 15-time major champion.
Herman claims Woods sought a sexual connection with her when she worked as a waiter at his Jupiter, Fla., restaurant. Herman claims that Woods forced her to sign the NDA, or she would have lost her job.
According to Sports Illustrated, Herman’s attorney, Benjamin Hobas, said in the lawsuit, “Mr. Woods was Ms. Herman’s boss.” According to Mr. Woods’ version of events, he imposed an NDA on her as part of keeping her job when she started a sexual relationship with him. Sexual harassment occurs when a manager imposes unequal work conditions on his employee based on their sexual connection.
Hobas said that Tiger Woods, the internationally renowned athlete and one of the most powerful figures in global sports, decided to pursue a sexual relationship with his employee, then – as claimed by him – forced her to sign an NDA about it or else be fired from her job.
Herman and Woods have been involved in a court struggle for many months, ever since she filed a complaint in October against a trust established for his house. Herman claims she had a verbal agreement to reside at the mansion for five years, however was booted out and locked out due to Woods’ apparent intention.
Woods reportedly urged Herman to prepare for a weekend break in the Bahamas, and after driving himself and Herman to the airport, Woods allegedly told Herman to talk with his lawyer before leaving.
Then, Mr. Woods’s California lawyer, out of the blue, told her that she was not going anywhere, would never see Mr. Woods again, had been locked out of the house, and could not return. She would never see her kids or her pets again. While still in the hangar, ‘Ray Donovan with a pen’ insulted Ms. Herman, advised her that she had no legal rights, and (tried) to compel her to sign a new non-disclosure and arbitration agreement.
And, when he became dissatisfied with their sexual relationship, he fooled her into leaving her home, locked her out, took her cash, pets, and personal belongings, and attempted to force her to sign a different NDA. When the sexual relationship ended, she was kicked out of her home.
Herman believes she is entitled to $30 million.
