According to sources, the iconic singer has experienced a string of significant health issues in recent years, including cancer, a stroke, and kidney failure.

Her death, at the age of 83, was announced on her official Instagram profile, provoking an outpouring of sadness online.

”With her music and boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the social media post continues.

“Today, we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music.”

While the death of the “Simply the Best singer may have appeared unexpected—there was no indication that her death was impending—Turner understood her time was coming.

According to reports, the so-called Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll has spent the past several years attempting to settle her estate affairs in order to prevent family feuding over the money she would leave behind.

Turner is alleged to have opted to write her will in 2021 after being diagnosed with the aforementioned health issues.

The Brownsville-born singer-songwriter allegedly had a $270 million fortune and sold her music catalog to the BMG record company for $50 million before her death.

Turner has had a lot of heartbreaking setbacks in the past decade. Before having a kidney transplant in 2017, she battled intestinal cancer.

Craig Turner, her eldest son, committed suicide in 2018 at the age of 59. Another of her children, Ronnie, died earlier this year after having a medical emergency at his home in the San Fernando Valley.
