Tina Turner’s Death: Her Son Ike Had Not Spoken To His Mother In Decades.

Ike Turner Jr. is a Grammy-winning producer and performer who has performed onstage alongside his father. Lorraine Taylor was Ike Jr.’s biological mother, and her connection with his father terminated while Ike Jr. was still a youngster. Ike Jr. received his first taste of motherhood when his dad married R&B diva Tina Turner.

The producer’s childhood was chaotic, and instability was pervasive in the Turners’ lives, with one of his brothers committing suicide and his dad dying of a heroin overdose. Tina died on May 24, 2023. The HBO documentary “Tina” features Ike Jr.’s stepmother telling the Turner family’s life story.

Tina adopted Ike Jr., one of two children, when she married his father, Ike, in 1962. Ike Jr. was reared by his stepmother after his birth in 1958, and he identified her as the only mother he knew. Ike Jr. has followed in his father’s footsteps as a musician.

Tina adopted Ike Jr.’s brother Michael, born in 1959, one year after the birth of her sole biological child with Ike, Ronnie Turner. Michael, like the rest of his family, is not a public figure; hence, little information on him is accessible to the public.

Ike Jr. is a world-class musician. At the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, he was honored for creating the finest traditional blues album. The winning album, “Risin’ With The Blues,” was released on September 12, 2006, and competed against recordings by Celine Dion and Tab Benoit.

Tina was a significant figure in the lives of Ike Jr. and his brother Michael when they were youngsters. Even though she was their adopted stepmother, she was a mother figure to them. Their father and Tina were married for 16 years, from the early 1960s until the late 1970s, indicating that Tina looked after them as children.

Ike had six women, including Tina. Despite the fact that Ike Jr. and Michael’s mother figures were constantly changing, they never lost sight of Tina as the one. But since Tina and Ike couldn’t see eye-to-eye, their marriage ended in divorce.

Because of their continual absence from the lives of the kids, housekeepers effectively reared them. Tina departed after years of violence and cruelty at the hands of Ike, turning her back on her kids and her spouse for good.

Ike Jr. learned the music profession from his parents. They pulled him out of school as a kid and pushed him into a support job for their professions. Ronnie, their only biological child, became an actor.

He was cast in “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” a film about his mother’s profession and escape from Ike. Ronnie had been married to Afida Turner for 15 years until his death in December of last year, and they had one kid.

As previously said, Ike Jr. acquired all he knows about the music business from his celebrity parents. He used all of his knowledge to carve out a Grammy-winning career for himself. Tina and her spouse gave him enormous tasks despite his young age. He elaborated that when he was 13, his father took him out of school. He ended up overseeing his recording facility and accompanying them on tour. His father used to have him tally the money they earned on tour until his hands were gray.

Ike Jr. had a difficult time working for his parents since abuse was occasionally aimed at him. He remembered his father assaulting him as he started working as his mother’s sound engineer.

Ike shares the Grammy trophy he received with his kid for one of the two Grammys he won. Ike received Best Traditional Album in 2007 in addition to Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Group in 1972. The latter was given for an album made by Ike Jr. for his father.

Ike Jr. formed The Love Thang after winning the Grammy with his father. He said that he always attempted to do the right thing and present himself to the best of his ability. In 1987, Ike Jr. released the electronic-funk album “Hard Labor.” Carol Simmons co-produced the album’s eight tracks.

Tina never returned to Ike’s home after fleeing with just a few pennies in her pocket in the 16th year of their marriage. Ike Jr. previously said that the last time he talked to his mother, Tina, was about 2000, and that none of his siblings had heard from her since then.

Ike Jr. claims that his mother emigrated and settled in Europe. According to reports, she married German producer Erwin Bach in 2013, and the couple resided in Kusnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich.

Tina sadly passed away on May 24, 2023. The spokeswoman for the Queen of Rock and Roll said that she died peacefully after a “long” but hidden illness. She was 83 years old.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life,…

Ike died in December 2007 as a result of a heroin overdose. For decades, he had struggled with heroin addiction.

Ike Jr. apologized to his dad for the wrongs he had done in his life and expressed regret that Tina had not seized the chance to forgive him as well. He also said that his brothers Ronnie and Michael were doing well, but Michael required medical attention. However, it has been confirmed that Ronnie is no longer alive, and nothing is known about Michael.

After all of Ike’s family’s drama-filled years, their tale was turned into a TV documentary called “Tina.” Tina’s career came to an end with the film, and she began her hibernation away from the US media. Despite being well created and performed, many individuals thought the tale needed to be finished.

Tina is not shown as a mother in the HBO program. According to others, she avoided that chapter since it did not present her in a favorable light. Ike Jr. and Michael were also disappointed to be cut out of the project. The boys are only seen on archival video in the documentary, which stars Angela Bassett and Oprah Winfrey. Tina, rest in peace.
