If you watch the Today program regularly, you’ve definitely noticed that co-host Hoda Kotb has been missing for over two weeks with no explanation.
Her coworkers explained the cause for her absence on Wednesday.
They understand that many have been asking how Hoda is doing. They can assure one that Hoda is OK. Craig Melvin said Wednesday morning that she’s been coping with a family health issue.

Kotb, 58, had her final live appearance on Today on February 17, however, she did appear in a pre-taped episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna that aired on February 20, which was President’s Day.
No one, not even Kotb, has given an explanation for her unexpected absence since then. Supporters are left to wonder where she disappeared and what she’s been up to.
Despite her absence from the Today show, the co-host has stayed active on Instagram, offering motivational messages. “Choose Hope,” her most recent song. Several others wondered if Kotb was planning to adopt another kid.
She had earlier taken time off and started teasing the adoption in the days leading up to the big revelation.
Melvin took a minute at the outset of Wednesday’s program to discuss Savannah Guthrie’s unexpected withdrawal from Tuesday’s broadcast (she tested positive for COVID) as well as Kotb’s almost two-week hiatus.
They indicated that Savannah and Hoda are both absent. Savannah had returned home after a positive COVID test the day before. They wish their pal a swift recovery, he said. As for Hoda, they know many have been worried about her. They can assure one that Hoda is OK. She’s been dealing with a family health issue, so they hope to see Hoda and Savannah back at the desk very, very soon.
Jenna Bush Hager, who was joined by Willie Geist for Today with Hoda, also assured viewers that they had heard everyone’s worries and that Hoda was well.
Whatever Hoda is struggling with, I hope everything turns out fine. I hope she realizes how many individuals are praying for her and her family right now.
