A campaign demanding Amber Heard’s removal from the upcoming Aquaman 2 film has surpassed two million signatures, despite charges of domestic abuse against Johnny Depp in the former couple’s $100 million trial. Depp was fired from his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film after Heard accused him of domestic violence.
More than two million individuals have signed a petition demanding that Heard be fired from her role as Princess Mera in Aquaman 2 after it was revealed that she reportedly mistreated Depp domestically.
Depp told the court this week that he was taken aback when Disney pulled him from the series four days after The Washington Post published an op-ed by Heard in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse without naming him.
The petition’s initiator, Jeanne Larson, stated that Heard had been “exposed as a domestic abuser,” and that canceling her role in Aquaman 2 would avoid her supposed violence from being glamorized. She added that Amber Heard has been unmasked as a domestic abuser by Johnny Depp.
In his complaint, Johnny Depp alleges many incidences of domestic abuse at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one event in which she hit him twice in the face and another in which she smashed his finger with a vodka bottle, requiring surgical reattachment.
She continued that he’ll be scarred until the end of his life as a result of it. Also, Amber Heard was arrested in 2009 for assaulting a prior domestic partner, Tasya Van Ree, indicating Amber Heard’s recurrent practice of violence. Since her divorce from Johnny Depp, Heard has been methodically crusading to discredit Depp in Hollywood, repeating many allegations of bogus instances in which she genuinely assaulted Johnny Depp yet lied and made false accounts of him being the abuser. Regarding the event in which she smashed the bones in Johnny Depp’s finger and almost severed it, necessitating surgery to reconnect and heal it.
She further stated that they must neither dismiss the pain of Heard’s victims, nor should they glorify a domestic abuser. Men, like women, are victims of domestic abuse. This must be acknowledged, and action done to stop a known abuser from being honored in the entertainment sector. Do what is right. Take Amber Heard out of Aquaman 2.
