Verdict Reached In Murdaugh Murder Trial After Only Three Hrs Of Deliberation.

Alex Murdaugh, 64, was found guilty of murdering his wife, Maggie Murdaugh, and their younger son, Paul Murdaugh, by a jury in his murder trial. In June 2021, their bodies were found on the family’s South Carolina plantation, which was 1,770 acres.

The jury deliberated for less than three hours before reaching a conclusion.

Richard Alexander “Buster” Murdaugh Jr., Murdaugh’s oldest son, was in the courtroom when the judgment was read. He and Alex Murdaugh both remained silent in the aftermath of the ruling.

On July 14, 2022, Alex Murdaugh was charged with two counts of murder and two counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a violent felony. The jury found him guilty on all counts.

Murdaugh constantly denied murdering his wife and child and referred to them by pet names and nicknames throughout his testimony. He maintained at one point, he could never do anything to purposefully harm one of them. Never, ever.

Murdaugh is facing further legal challenges, most of which are pecuniary in nature. These allegations vary from stealing money from his legal company to scamming clients.
