We all should love and respect each other no matter what faith, origin, colour we are. White or black does not matter. What matters is being kind and compassionate. This amazing couple’s decision to adopt black children should be applauded. While God did applaud them in a wonderfully miraculous way. Read below to find the happy miracle.
Aaron and Rachel Halbert even before getting married always knew they wanted to adopt, especially a black child. Aaron expressed that they faced difficulty in naturally conceiving. They also learnt that white children are more often adopted. They felt a child who may otherwise not be able to have a family could be provided a home.
In Aaron’s words, “Grasping diversity will make the world stronger as we marvel at God’s creative genius on display through His people’s varying pigments, personalities and proficiencies. Our differences are cause for celebration, not scorn.”
They never expected that their choice would change their lives in an amazing and wonderful way. Aaron and Rachel, both Presbyterian missionaries, visited an adoption agency. Two African-American kids, a girl and a boy were adopted by them. The beautiful family experienced acceptance and also racism by outsiders.
The Halberts were content and never imagined having more children till they heard about the National Embryo Donation Centre. Normally, surplus frozen embryos are given to science or destroyed; however, Christian centers welcome “donations” that can be “adopted” by couples who can’t conceive easily.
Rachel had two African-American twin embryos implanted considering Aaron and Rachel wanted their two adopted children to fit in with their new siblings. A miracle happened to this happy family. The couple through embryo adoption gave birth to black triplets. Wow! Praise God for his incredible miracle.
