An inquiry is underway in South Carolina after a lady was discovered dead inside a department store toilet after going undiscovered for four days.
An employee at Belk in the Columbiana Centre shopping mall discovered 63-year-old Bessie Durham dead inside the store’s family bathroom around 8 p.m. Monday.
Durham worked for a third-party organization that handled housekeeping and cleaning at the retail store.
Surveillance cameras at the business reportedly saw the woman entering the restroom area at around 7 a.m. on Thursday, four days before her corpse was discovered. She was never spotted leaving the neighborhood.

Durham’s family lodged a missing persons report with Columbia police on Monday.
South Carolina District 80 Rep. Jermaine Johnson stated that he felt horrible for Durham, her family, and all those involved in the matter.
Johnsoon added that he is feeling terrible for this woman who had to die alone in a toilet stall someplace, just doing her job to survive.
Durham’s death, according to the spokesperson, should serve as a wake-up call to invest in oneself and avoid letting employment kill one.
Durham died by natural factors, according to the coroner’s report.
On Thursday, Belk sent the following statement that firstly, they extend their heartfelt sympathies to the Durham family, who was discovered in a family toilet at their Columbiana Centre location. Ms. Durham worked as a housekeeper for her employer, an outside contractor firm that does cleaning for the shop. They’ investigating hard to figure out what occurred. However, they have made counselors accessible to associates in need of assistance.
