Celine Dion’s husband, René Angélil is no more but she still considers him the love of her life. Angélil died in 2016 from throat cancer but she and her children are till date struggling to deal with the pain of his demise.
Dion was just 12 years old when she first met Angélil in 1980. While nothing ensued at the time, she didn’t realise that she had saw the love of her life. Her brother sent a sample of her singing to Angélil who was apparently started crying after hearing her singing and had categorical to make her a star.
Angélil assisted her to bring into fame and along the way, they started evolving feelings for each other. They publicly began dating by 1987 and on December 17th, 1994, they married in an extravagant wedding at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec. Gradually, their family of two grew as they welcomed their three kids.
Angélil was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999 and after a long treatment, he was declared cancer-free for a few years. But then again in 2015, his cancer has returned and Angélil spent years combating the illness which eventually took a toll on his body. On January 14, 2016, he sadly deceased at the age of 73 leaving his family shattered.
Dion said that it was very tough for all of them before he left. It was difficult for her and her children to see him die a little bit more each day. She further said that when he left, it was kind of a respite for her as he deserves not to feel pain. She shared that he was the lone man that she kissed and the only man that she treasured and not ever kissed another man in her life. She added that the man of her life was her husband and they were one.
Dion shared in the course of an interview that how much her partner’s demise had hurt her but realised that it was even worse for their children. She shared that she manages herself in a way not feel lonely, so she got herself a gigantic bed and nap with her twins. She said that her twins are uplifting her a lot and she wants them.
Dion carried on disclosing how she and her family still chat to Angélil even after his demise. She shared that they kiss him each night as they have a little custom where they say goodnight to him with a photograph. Then the children chat to him and they inscribe words, put them in balloons and they release them into the sky.
Sharing about how she is coping with his loss, she said that Angélil gave her ample power over all these years and various stuff for her now to discover and to spread her wings. She further said that she had superb moments in her entire life comprising rising in this family, having great parents, getting wedded to the ultimate man, knowing that now he’s in harmony and he’s relaxing and continuously inside her. She said that she see him each day through the eyes of her kids.
Dion shared how she certain her partner and asked him to go in harmony. She told Angélil that he does not have to concern about whatever and he should leave in amity. Subsequent to his death, Dion was questioned if she looks forward to to fall in love again, she replied that she is still in love with Angélil and not ready to fall in love with anyone else.
