Cameron Diaz fought back when someone attempted to hurt Drew Barrymore.

Do any of us recall Charlie’s Angels? For better or worse, the brand evolved into a symbol of female empowerment. You may argue that it was a portrayal that was heavily influenced by strong males, and you would likely be correct.

Instead of discussing the plotlines or creative decisions of the film, it’s worth reflecting on an amazing relationship that formed on site. Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore are two actors you may not hear much about these days, but it’s indisputable that these stunning ladies conquered the nineties with their talent.

They were charming, brilliant, attractive, intellectual, and a touch frightening – the ideal combo for an A-list star, in our view.

However, while many female friendships in the profession are known to fade over time, these two have stayed the landing. They have beaten the odds for thirty years and continue to be a tower of strength for each other through thick and thin.

Drew has been very open about her feelings after the divorce. Though she and her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, are co-parenting their two young girls and are now on good terms, the divorce has taken a toll on the two of them.

Drew saw herself as the “greatest failure.” She wanted to raise her 2 kids as part of a conventional family, which she believed the divorce had damaged. She claimed she was in a “very sad and frightened place” during the procedure and had dropped 40 pounds as a consequence.

She was able to collect the pieces of her heartbreak and get back on her feet, though. Her advice for coping through difficult times: female friends.

Cameron Diaz was one of those companions who raced to her after news of her divorce emerged. Cameron saw immediately away that when someone in the squad is in trouble, it’s all hands on deck. It didn’t even need to be spoken that she needed to be there for her buddy in her hour of need.

Drew notably mentioned Cameron’s role in supporting her when she was going through a horrific predicament. The photo’s caption said it all:

Leaving the house with your girlfriend. And becoming a whole individual with your sister. Remember to take time out of your hectic day to spend with the people you care about. Cameron has made her feel stunningly attractive. It always has. Will always be. #thankgodforyourfriends. They revitalise and reaffirm everything.

Drew’s problem with drugs when she was younger is a hot topic among media publications. Cameron, on the other hand, is not interested.

Cameron was promoting her current picture at a press junket and agreed with the host’s comment that her daughter in the film is similar to Drew Barrymore. She was referring to the character being as “bright” and “lively” as Drew.

The presenter then deviated, stating it’s preferable to wish the daughter character doesn’t go through the “drug years” like Drew. Cameron was having none of it, and she instantly called him out and defended her buddy.

Cameron then walked out, essentially telling him that the session was over. Her actions throughout the interview demonstrate her willingness to go against the grain and instigate a stressful scenario in order to protect her own buddy.

These are only a few concrete instances. There have been several instances where the ladies have been spotted supporting one another. The two are virtually ride-or-die, from acting as bridesmaids at each other’s weddings to Cameron being present before Drew’s first baby’s birth.

Drew even admitted that if she ever found herself in jail, Cameron Diaz would definitely be her first contact.

Cameron and her husband Benji Madden had their first kid through surrogacy.  Their daughter’s name aroused a few eyebrows for reasons you might not expect. Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden is her given name. Some media sites quickly realized an interesting connection: Wildflower is also the title of Drew Barrymore’s biography.

Neither Cameron nor Drew have acknowledged this, but it’s safe to say that their parenthood hasn’t kept them from spending time together. As recently as January 2020, the moms were seen dancing and lounging at a pub.

Drew noted their bond is significantly stronger than the normal female friendship touted in Hollywood when discussing a recent snapshot she shared of the two of them.

Though this friendship is providing us the most positive sentiments, we must acknowledge that it is an exception in the sector. Women are set against each other on a regular basis in Hollywood. They are made to feel jealous of one another, they are driven to fight against one another, and the news cycles all work together to instill enmity, antagonism, or passive-aggressiveness in the women.

The reality that these two ladies have been able to keep their epic relationship going for thirty years is an incredible accomplishment in and of itself. The truth that they’ve done it despite divorces, drug addictions, break-ups, marriages, and kids is simply the icing on the cake. They act as role models for women worldwide, not just other female celebrities: if you’re fortunate enough to know who your closest friend is, be there for her and never let her go.

Truly, spending time with a close buddy is arguably the simplest thing in the world. You only need to form a group of pals. It’s not a mutually advantageous relationship; it’s a constant sense of connection and oneness. Drew and Cameron always knew how to keep close to one other and be strong support systems for one another. There is virtually little in life that you cannot overcome after you have found your magical friend/s.
